This Sunday we had AJ Martin with us from Compassion Canada so that we could hear how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting countries over the world that are in a less advantaged financial position.
Elmvale Community Church is partnering with Compassion Canada in our Advent Conspiracy program this year. We are pushing back against the consumer narrative of Christmas and pushing into what it means to become Good News for the world.
Just like Jesus we want to "Bring good news that will cause great joy for all the people!" Not just the people in our families, community, and country, but people all around the world.
Elmvale Community Church is looking to raise $5,175 for Compassion Canada's COVID relief program in the Dominican Republic. This will provide 1339 children and their families food for 2 weeks, hygiene supplies for a month, as well as prescription medications.
