Bible Text: Luke 22:20-30 | Stephen Weenink
Series: Fewer Fences Bigger Tables
We try to put ourselves on a different level than the sin that is currently offending the crowd… But the problem is, that when we elevate ourselves to a different level, we begin to look down on other people, and when we look down on others, we become an enemy of the Gospel.
Look what happens with the disciples: Their disgust and their moral superiority become toxic to their unity: 24 Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them.
The truth is, none of the disciples were chosen by Jesus to be disciples because they were great. And none of them were chosen because they would somehow become great. Jesus chose them as losers to continue to be losers.
