Bible Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 | Stephen Weenink
Series: Opportunity & Opposition
We are forgetful beings... especially when we start getting older and have more to think about. We can set out to do one thing and get so easily sidetracked by other duties and responsibilities.
We can easily forget our faith. Sometimes I forget the sort of person I am supposed to be. I get busy living life, doing things that are seemingly important and I forget HOW I’m supposed to be living – how the way of Jesus is supposed to invade every area of how I live.
When I forget, I become worldly, selfish, impatient, angry… stingy. Stingy with my time, my love, my attention for Jesus and for others… Then… then I remember Jesus and I recognize the disconnect between how I am living and the better offer of life that Jesus has given me.
This Sunday we are looking 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 and Paul, Silas and Timothy's reminder to the church to continue in the important things that they had learned and to continue growing in them...
