Bible Text: Matthew 13:44-46, Psalm 105:1-4 | Stephen Weenink
Series: He Is We Are
Before we will give up control of our lives and “our own way” and before we begin living in a counter-intuitive, counter-cultural way, we need to really believe and trust:
- That our lives can be deeper and more satisfying than they currently are.
- That Jesus has the ability to take our lives & actually make them better.
Will it be worth it for me to allow Jesus to control everything about my life?
We’re intrigued by the promise because we know the content & quality of our lives and, most of us, want our lives to be better than they are.
We’re stuck on whether we believe that Jesus has the ability to make our lives better. We believe what everyone else believes about making life better: more money, more pleasure, more relaxation, more power.
G.K. Chesterton, “The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried.”
