Bible Text: Luke 14:1-14 | Charlotte Weenink, John Cook, Stephen Weenink
Series: Jesus Is ___________.
Most of us want to limit access of Jesus and others to our outer selves:
- We’re content with being seen as good, decently moral people.
- We’ll avoid doing really bad things, and do some good things too.
We want to be seen as good people doing good things. Most of us just want to be seen as marginally better, more together than our friends and our neighbours. Beyond this we want Jesus to leave us alone.
We don’t want Him pressing on our hearts and exposing core issues. So, we use externals to hide our hearts from God.
