While we wait for heaven, we work hard, we live on mission with peace, joy and love.  To do this, we’re going to need power.  Life lived on this earth for Jesus isn’t for the faint of heart.

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

This is how I interpret these verses: “I’m sending the Holy Spirit who will give you power as you face hardship.  This Spirit will be as my Spirit in you.  I will lead you to love others like I do and serve them like I have.  This love will spread from me to you to the ends of the earth.  But don’t forget, it’s going to be difficult.”
